Project: The Highest Blog in the World

The highest blog in the world. This is the record to reach.

Updating a blog directly from a mountain of 26.000 feet.

Text, images, videos, created and published from 18.700 feet, up to try the magic "Hello World " from the height of 26.906 the summit of Cho Oyu, the sixth mountain on the planet earth, in Tibet.

But the record is basically an excuse and is a game.

The excuse is to be able to report and share, day by day, an extraordinary journey, a beautiful mountain, interesting encounters and endless skies.

The game is to:

-- Update, directly for a month, the highest blog in the world.
-- Create the highest post in the world.
-- Do the highest Skype call.
-- Bring Twitteretc. up to 26.000 feet

Each game is a small challenge.

The highest blog in the world is a technological challenge but also human and psychological.

THE TECH CHALLENGE

Blog is a tool for many. Easy and accessible. This is true if you are at home or office. Everything becomes more complicated traveling. If the trip is among the highest mountains on earth, the things are some more complicated.

Computers: in the mountains, above certain height, each gram weighs a world, also the extreme conditions (cold and dust) can create big problems. We have therefore chosen as travel companion EEEPC 901 , made available by Asus Italy. The choice of EEEPC 901 is for the convenience, for the lightness, for the "solid state" hard-disk and for the battery's lenght.

Power: all provided by solar panels. No power generators that can pollute the environment.

Connections: the "painful" to be between eight thousand meters high mountains is that you can not live without a satellite connection.

Software: normally is open source.

THE HUMAN AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CHALLENGE

Living for a month at 18.700 feet, inside a tent, in the midst of rocks, snow and cold, is the biggest unknown. The air will be thin and perhaps even the thoughts.

So, in the case, you will bear with me.
